Ubuntu User! asked:

this question must of been asked a thousand times, but i still don’t know. i used to think that Norton was the best in the business, but i keep seeing bad reviews, and people are saying it slows down your computer. i’m currently using avast home edition, but even some people say that gives you false sense of safety. what you guys think?

Avast! Anti virus is free, easy to use, and it updates itself. I love it 🙂

dont buy norton! that thing slows down your computer so much! so bad, you gotta download some tool to uninstall it. AVG 3-pack works well. avast is also really nice. mcafee is the best if your willing to spend some money

The best anti virus according to me is Avast 4.8 Home Edition, detects all the viruses, trojans, etc. The best thing is that it is trial for 60 days but u can make it fool very easily by setting your date to as much days u want. I also suggest u norton internet security 2009 i repeat 2009!It doesn’t slow a computer at all.
